Assessing Your Staff: Objectives and Standards

As a line manager, you are responsible for both supporting the development of your staff’s skills and knowledge and assessing their progress. Assigning clear objectives and standards enables you to achieve both of these aims effectively.

Throughout the review period, it is important to monitor progress and record a judgment against each objective and standard. While this can be completed at the end of the review period, you may also choose to record judgments at any point during the process.
